What’d you think?: Ah damn. Damn, damn, damn. This is a great game. I’ve played it before, but I don’t know it super well, and playing it in Japanese added some challenge. I know enough Japanese I can squeak by in some respects, but when combat often has cues that tell you when defenses are lowered or raised, it really helps to be able to see that every time. I got past Magus, sometimes considered one of the hardest fights, then died to the next pushover boss, about two thirds of the way through the game. We’re running out of prestige PS1 titles (or ports, in this case, as this was a SNES game), with only a FF8 victory under our belts. Sigh.
