What’d you think?: The PAL version is called Scare Island, and the Japanese version is called Monster Academy. I don’t know why the slight differences, any title seems appropriate. You play as a Scream Team attending Monster Academy on Scare Island. Like many licensed movie games, this is a collect-a-thon that had a few weird echoes of Ape Escape (since you’re tracking down guys in each level who wear colored-light-up helmets) but lacked any challenge or real draw. Even a big Monsters, Inc. fan might struggle to find much to like here — Billy Crystal and John Goodman are nowhere to be found in the actual game, just in the clips from the movie that play between levels (and cover all the major story beats). I beat this game, but my time would’ve been better spend watching the movie one and a half times.
