What’d you think?: I feel like I’ve played a disproportionate amount of helicopter combat games in the 400 or so PS1 games I’ve played so far. I also feel like a disproportionate number of those have fun or exciting music. This helicopter game did indeed have fun and exciting music, as well as intense vintage PC vibes, due to being a port of a 1991 MS-DOS flight sim. The campaign mode gives you a whole crew of pilots to send out on generic-feeling, possibly procedurally generated(?) missions — always something akin to “Destroy the [truck convoy] leaving from [Coordinates 12-32] heading [ENE]” in two generic-feeling war theaters of “Europe” and “Persian Gulf”. It’s a lot of generic bullshit around a well-made flight sim engine.
