What’d you think?: I love rhythm games. I’ve put hundreds of dollars into DDR machines through my life, and fantasized about owning a IIDX or Pop N Music home controller. So a fighting game (not a genre I particularly care for) with rhythm elements interested me a lot. And this seemed alright! Cel-shaded and musical, comparisons to the Jet Set series are unavoidable, except for from people who haven’t played that series, such as myself. The rhythm element comes in when you try to do your super attacks — you have to adeptly complete a DDR-style minigame that seems to differ for each character, but is the same each time for that character. This game was fun and I demand it be included at EVO
