What’d you think?: This was a Japanese tactics RPG set in a fictional medieval European setting. There are seven factions you can align with and 14 endings (presumably a good and bad for each, I did not see an ending). Fighting takes place on two or three fronts, first an overhead map where you move around entire squadrons, then a separate battle screen when the protagonist’s squadron enters combat with another, and you have rudimentary control over your phalanx on a row-by-row setting, letting you move unit types in front of or behind others, while your opponent similarly moves their lines about. Magic spells can buff and debuff the lines, and you can sometimes also enter into a duel with an enemy commander. There’s a decent bit of depth and the game seems pretty complete, but the language barrier was bound to be insurmountable. The PlayStation release was an updated version; this game first came out for the Saturn.
